El frente (The Front)


La fiscal de distrito Monique Lamont tiene un trabajo especial para Winston Garano, investigador de Homicidios a su servicio. En 1962, una joven invidente británica fue brutalmente asesinada. Ahora parece que ésta podría haber sido la primera víctima del Estrangulador de Boston. Garano no comprende por qué no es Scotland Yard quien se encarga del caso, dado que la víctima era de origen británico. Pero parece que el objetivo de Lamont es ganar notoriedad y acercarse un poco más a sus ambiciosas aspiraciones políticas. Casualmente, en la zona donde Winston debe investigar se encuentra la sede del Frente, una asociación promovida por algunas agencias policiales con el objetivo de ganar independencia respecto a la policía estatal (en contra de los intereses de la fiscal). Pronto empezarán a filtrarse informaciones comprometedoras. Garano, ayudado por la eficiente Stump, miembro del Frente, se embarcará en una investigación llena de referencias cruzadas y datos contradictorios.
